Without collever
Three problems that cost you time, money and nerves today
You may already know them. Most companies only notice them when a contract gets stuck or a customer walks away.
-
You never quite know where your contract is.
Contracts go back and forth by email, get printed, signed, scanned and filed somewhere. The overview lives in a spreadsheet that is never fully up to date.
The result: hours turn into weeks. And sometimes the customer signs with someone else in the meantime.
-
Your tools don't talk to each other.
One tool for signing, one for filing, one for approvals, one for chat. Each has its own login and its own invoice. You type the same information twice.
The result: you pay for several licences and still lose track.
-
You're not sure it will hold up legally.
Which electronic signature is valid? How long do you have to keep records? And is your customer data really in Europe, or on a server in the US after all?
The result: uncertainty at every audit and debates with your data protection officer.
With collever
Everything a document needs. In one platform.
collever takes a document from the first draft to the archive: write, approve, sign, file and find again. You don't need any specialist knowledge.
- faster business processes
- up to 30%
- lower software costs
- up to 50%
- platform instead of five tools

Sign
Have contracts signed digitally, including by people outside your company. You decide who signs in which order and see live who has finished.
What it means for you: a contract is signed in hours, not weeks.
-
File and find
Every document lands in the right place with all its versions. The archive is tamper-proof: nobody can change a document without it showing. Search finds it even if you only remember one word from the text.
What it means for you: no more searching, and records that pass any audit.
-
Automate workflows
Approvals and tasks go automatically to the person who is allowed to decide. You can always see what is waiting, and why.
What it means for you: business processes up to 30% faster.
-
Work together
Discuss documents where they live: in team chat with channels and threads, in the PDF editor right in your browser, and in documents you edit together.
What it means for you: fewer emails, no version chaos, one version for everyone.
-
Notify
collever reminds the right people by email, SMS, Microsoft Teams or Beekeeper. If someone is away, their substitute takes over.
What it means for you: nothing gets stuck because someone missed an email.
-
Sign in securely, prove everything
Sign in with a passkey or single sign-on, meaning one login for all your company's tools. Every step is recorded in a log nobody can tamper with.
What it means for you: you can always show who did what, and when.
-
Check signatures
Check for free whether a signed PDF is valid. collever compares it against the official trust lists of Switzerland and the EU.
What it means for you: you can check documents from others in seconds too.
-
AI, if you want it
Have texts translated, rephrased or summarized. AI stays off until you turn it on. You choose the provider yourself, including one based in Switzerland.
What it means for you: help with writing, without giving up control of your data.
-
For your IT team
collever connects to the tools you already use through an application programming interface (API), webhooks and an SDK. AI assistants connect through MCP.
What it means for you: collever fits your workflows, not the other way round.
Which signature do you need?
Electronic signatures come in three levels. collever offers all three. This is how they differ:
-
SES
Simple electronic signature
For everyday things like orders, quotes or internal approvals. Confirmed with a click or an SMS code.
-
AES
Advanced electronic signature
For most contracts between companies. The signature belongs clearly to one person, and any later change to the document shows.
-
QES
Qualified electronic signature
For contracts the law requires in writing. It is equal to a handwritten signature: in Switzerland under ZertES, in the EU under eIDAS.
Not sure which level you need? In the demo we show you what is enough for your contracts.
Today and with collever
| Task | Today | With collever |
|---|---|---|
| Signing a contract | Print, sign, scan, send: often several days | Signed digitally, often within hours |
| Finding a document | Searching folders, inboxes and drives | One search across everything, in seconds |
| Knowing the status | Asking by phone or email | Live status on every document |
| Tools | Five tools, five invoices | One platform, one invoice |
| Legal certainty | Unclear which signature is enough | The right level under ZertES and eIDAS |
| Data location | Often unclear, sometimes outside Europe | In Switzerland or the EU |
Compliance
Legally sound in Switzerland and the EU
collever meets the legal requirements for electronic signatures, record keeping and data protection in Switzerland and the EU. Here you can see what each law requires and how collever meets it.
-
ZertES
Swiss Federal Act on Electronic Signatures
- What the law requires
- A qualified signature from a recognized provider. Only that is equal to a handwritten signature (Art. 14 para. 2bis of the Swiss Code of Obligations).
- How collever meets it
- Qualified signatures and seals through Swisscom Trust Services, a recognized certification service provider.
-
eIDAS
EU regulation on electronic identification and trust services
- What the law requires
- Signatures from a provider on the EU trust list, so they are valid in every EU and EEA state.
- How collever meets it
- Qualified eIDAS signatures through Swisscom Trust Services, listed on the EU trust list. Valid in Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein.
-
GeBüV
Swiss ordinance on keeping business records
- What the law requires
- Keep business records for ten years, unchanged, complete and readable.
- How collever meets it
- A tamper-proof archive: checksums and a tamper-evident log reveal any change. Retention periods, legal hold, PDF/A archive format.
-
GoBD
German principles for proper digital bookkeeping
- What the law requires
- Keep records unchangeable, traceable and complete, and make them available for audits.
- How collever meets it
- Versions instead of overwriting, a complete log of every change, full-text search and export for the audit.
-
DSG
Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP)
- What the law requires
- Process personal data only for its purpose, protect it properly and be able to give information about it.
- How collever meets it
- Role-based access, encrypted connections, passkeys and two-factor sign-in, data in data centres in Switzerland or the EU. AI only if you turn it on.
-
GDPR
EU General Data Protection Regulation
- What the law requires
- The same principles for people in the EU, plus deletion and retention periods and demonstrable security.
- How collever meets it
- Deletion and retention periods per document, a log that proves every access, and signatures that stay verifiable for decades (PAdES-LTA).
What you can rely on
- Qualified signatures from Swisscom Trust Services, listed on the EU trust list
- Hosting in an ISO 27001 certified data centre
- A free check of any signature against the Swiss and EU trust lists
What you decide
collever makes sure the technology meets the requirements. Which signature level a contract needs and how long you must keep a document is your decision. In the demo we show you what applies to your documents. For GoBD you describe your processes in your procedural documentation, as usual.

| Signatures per year | Price per QES |
|---|---|
| 1 to 2'500 | CHF 1.80 |
| 2'501 to 5'000 | CHF 1.75 |
| 5'001 to 15'000 | CHF 1.68 |
| 15'001 to 30'000 | CHF 1.60 |
| from 30'001 | CHF 1.55 |
Everything else is in your plan: simple and advanced signatures, identity checks and SMS. No hidden fees.

Questions and answers
What you should know about collever
Short, clear answers to the questions we hear most often.
What is collever?
collever is a Swiss platform for everything to do with documents: signing digitally, filing in a tamper-proof archive, automating approvals and working together as a team. It replaces several separate tools, complies with ZertES, eIDAS, the revised Swiss data protection act (revFADP) and GDPR, and stores your data in data centres in Switzerland or the EU. collever is developed by axelity ag in Sargans, Switzerland.
Is collever legally compliant?
Yes. collever meets the legal requirements for electronic signatures, record keeping and data protection in Switzerland and the EU: ZertES and eIDAS for signatures, GeBüV and GoBD for record keeping, the Swiss FADP and the GDPR for data protection. Qualified signatures come from Swisscom Trust Services, a provider on the EU trust list. Which signature level and which retention period apply to your document is your decision. In the demo we show you what applies to you.
Is an electronic signature valid in Switzerland?
Yes. In Switzerland, a qualified electronic signature (QES) under the Federal Act on Electronic Signatures (ZertES) is equal to a handwritten signature. Most contracts are not bound to any form, so a simple or advanced signature is enough for them. collever offers all three levels.
What is the difference between SES, AES and QES?
The three levels differ in how reliably the signer is identified. The simple signature (SES) suits everyday matters. The advanced signature (AES) links the signature clearly to one person and reveals any later change. The qualified signature (QES) requires a verified identity and counts like a handwritten signature.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored in data centres in Switzerland or the EU and protected under the Swiss Data Protection Act and the GDPR. It only leaves Europe if your organization itself turns on an AI feature with a provider outside Europe and explicitly confirms it. The Enterprise plan also offers hosting in a data centre of your choice or on your own premises.
How much does collever cost?
collever starts at CHF 19 per person per month, billed annually. The Business plan with every feature costs CHF 49. Only qualified signatures are billed by use, from CHF 1.80 per signature. Simple and advanced signatures, identity checks and SMS are included in your plan. People who only sign pay nothing. You can try it free for 30 days.
How much can I save with collever?
Compared with separate tools for signatures, filing, workflows, PDF editing and chat, collever saves you up to 50% of your software costs. For 25 people, by our calculation, that is around CHF 20'700 per year. On top of that comes the time you no longer spend searching, printing and chasing.
How quickly can I get started?
Request a test account through the form. We usually set it up within one working day, and you try it free for 30 days with every feature. There is nothing to install, and you can send your first contract right away. If you'd rather see how it works first, request a demo.
Does collever work with customers in Germany and Austria?
Yes. collever supports signatures under the Swiss ZertES and under the European eIDAS regulation. For contracts in Switzerland you choose a ZertES signature; for contracts in Germany, Austria and the rest of the EU, an eIDAS signature. Your data stays in Europe either way.
Does collever offer free tools?
Yes. Without an account and for free, you can check electronic signatures in PDFs, check PDF files against the PDF/A archiving standard, make signed PDFs verifiable for the long term and convert Word, Excel or PDF files to PDF/A. Your files are deleted once they are processed.
Do I need IT skills?
No. collever runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install. If you can write an email, you can send a contract with collever. Signers need neither an account nor any software. If needed, your IT team can connect collever to existing tools through an interface (API).
Does collever use artificial intelligence?
Only if you want it to. The AI features for translating, rephrasing and summarizing stay off until your organization turns them on. You choose the provider yourself and pay them directly. If you'd rather not use a foreign AI provider, choose a Swiss provider or your own model.
