Make signed PDFs verifiable for the long term
Certificates expire, and revocation information eventually disappears. For a signature to be verifiable in ten years, this evidence belongs in the document. This tool adds it without changing the signature.
Uploaded files are deleted right after processing, the results after download or after 30 minutes at the latest.
How it works
-
Upload signed PDFs
Several at once if you like.
-
Let it add the evidence
The tool fetches the certificate chain and the revocation information (OCSP and CRL) and appends them as a new version. Existing signatures stay unchanged.
-
Download
The completed PDFs are ready to file.
What the tool does
- Result conforms to PAdES B-LT (long-term)
- The original data stays byte for byte intact: the evidence is appended
- Several documents in one run, up to 50 MB together
- Safety check: no added pages, annotations or attachments
Your file stays private
Uploaded files are deleted right after processing, the results after download or after 30 minutes at the latest.
Frequently asked questions
What does LTV mean?
LTV stands for long-term validation. An LTV-enabled PDF contains all the evidence needed to check the signature: the certificate chain and the confirmation that the certificate was not revoked at the time of signing. So the signature stays verifiable even if the provider no longer supplies this data later.
When do I need it?
Whenever you have to keep signed documents for a long time, for example ten years under GeBüV or GoBD. Without this evidence, a validator often shows a signature as no longer verifiable after a few years.
Does it change my signature?
No. The existing signatures and the content stay byte for byte intact. The evidence is appended to the end of the file as a new version.
You have contracts signed regularly?
With collever, the validation report shows for every signature whether the evidence for long-term validation is included, and the archive keeps it tamper-proof.
